Clever Home Automation.
Mobotix IP cameras for superior automated home
surveillance.
Superior surveillance for your automated home.
When building or renovating the electronic infrastructure you install
in your home needs to last longer and provide better long term value than
most consumer grade IP cameras. Just as Clever Home recommends quality alarm panels,
home automation equipment and speakers from manufacturers of
professional-standard equipment, we also recommend Mobotix IP cameras for your home surveillance.
Mobotix IP cameras may be used inside or outside, and may also be integrated with these other home automation
components for improved functionality by a Clever Home automation Engineer.
You may benefit greatly by considering your complete
surveillance system including LAN, recording, search and playback hardware and software,
when selecting your home surveillance cameras. After you have experienced the superb quality
of a properly designed, installed and programmed Mobotix IP camera surveillance system integrated
with your home automation by Clever Home, you may find it difficult to accept anything less.

How can you benefit from Mobotix
surveillance from Clever Home automation?
Fewer Mobotix cameras can provide better home security, and improved aesthetics.
One panoramic 6 MP
high resolution Mobotix Q25/Q26 IP camera can replace up to four ordinary
surveillance cameras, indoors or outdoors. Even more flexible are the
Mobotix
S15/S16/S26 FlexMount and Mobotix
M15/M16 dual outdoor overt IP cameras with their ability to connect one or two panoramic
6MP camera sensor modules to a shared base module.
The vandal-resistant Mobotix
T25 home video-intercom and access control door station doubles as a 6 MP front door
surveillance camera, making a separate entrance camera unnecessary.
Your home aesthetics are further enhanced because external IP65 rated Mobotix cameras do
not require "traffic camera" style external enclosures when used outside.
Mobotix IP cameras provide reliable cost-effective automated home surveillance over the long term.
Using high quality components designed for operating extremes and no lens or positioning motors,
you can expect years of reliable home surveillance performance from Mobotix cameras installed by Clever Home.
Mobotix also has a history of releasing free firmware updates that allow existing installed
Mobotix IP cameras to support new features and benefits, such as the Award-Winning MxActivitySensor
(more details below). Mobotix IP cameras can reduce your ongoing costs in the years following installation
because:
- Mobotix has a policy to never charge for software or firmware updates, or any software
licenses.
- Decentralised Mobotix IP cameras don't require heating/cooling and are more
energy-efficient.
- High quality Mobotix IP cameras make frequent camera replacement unnecessary.
FREE professional user interface mobile device Apps.
Choose from the easy-to-use MxBell App for Android
or iOS devices for receiving Push Notifications and answering calls from Mobotix home automation
door stations and viewing live video from Mobotix Cameras, or the Mobotix Mobile App
for iOS devices for viewing live video and video recordings.
More camera functionality requiring reduced home LAN complexity and cost.
Mobotix's unique decentralised IP camera philosophy and its processing and data-efficient MxPEG codec
require less LAN (Local Area Network) bandwidth than other megapixel IP cameras, making them
ideal for use on home LANs, and more suitable for use on home WiFi wireless networks.
Unlike other IP cameras, Mobotix IP cameras include a high speed computer and advanced software
that supports sophisticated image analysis, recording, event detection and response, and
home automation integration:
In-camera video and lip-sync audio recording with live video/audio RAM buffering.
Optional local recording directly to flash memory within each Mobotix IP camera, and/or over network.
Optional Mobotix Mx2wire modules allow you to use existing non-communications cable if that
would be more cost-effective than installing Cat5/6/7 cable to your mobotix devices. The
Mobotix MxSplitProtect module even makes it possible to connect two Mobotix
PoE cameras to a single Cat5/6 cable.
The unique Mobotix MxPEG codec is specifically designed for surveillance video recording for:
- Encoding/decoding video more efficiently than MPEG, using less computing power.
- Experiencing a low latency of less than 150 ms.
- Enjoying good still image quality that is set by JPEG quality setting only, with no motion estimation.
- Delivering multiple streams with different frame rates simultaneously, e.g., for live viewing and for storing.
- Lip-synchronous audio interleaved with the video frames when implemented in Mobotix IP cameras.
Decentralised VMS (Video Management Software) in each Mobotix IP camera may directly record video
and audio to compatible LAN storage devices (including third party NAS drives) and/or to flash memory within each camera,
along with the alarm and data management information. This allows
easy efficient search and playback, via a free web browser interface or a software based viewing
client like MxManagementCenter
(MxMC) professional video management software. This also means that
if you install Mobotix home automation IP cameras, then you don't need to purchase, run, or depend upon a DVR
(Digital Video Recorder), or a dedicated PC-based system with VMS for recording.
The Award-Winning MxActivitySensor feature provides a major leap forward in
the ease and reliability by which moving people and objects may be detected, and
even selectively responds to movement in different directions. In practice,
MxActivitySensor allows Mobotix surveillance cameras to also function
as visual home automation sensors in
demanding outdoor or indoor applications. The moving object should within view for at least 2 seconds,
and the recording frame rate should be at least 6 per second. For more details read the
MxActivitySensor compact guide. The Mobotix MxActivitySensor won Benchmark Magazine's
prestigious Innovation Award for Best Perimeter Security System 2014, and further improved versions
of MxActivitySensor have been released in subsequent free firmware updates.
From 2017 onwards all x14/24 and x15/25 Mobotix cameras and doorstations models can support the
new MxActivitySensor 2.0, via a firmware upgrade released free of charge from Mobotix.
In addition to detecting motion in certain directions and predefined areas, MxActivitySensor 2.0
also differentiates objects depending on their size and perspective, helping further reduce false alarms
caused by birds and small animals. Only non-hemispheric Mobotix camera sensors can take advantage of
the perspective compensation support in MxActivitySensor 2.0, and this perspective compensation works
best if the camera is installed in a slightly elevated position and tilted downward by about 10-15°.
Non-optical movement detection may also be supported using the Mobotix MultiSense PIR
(and illumination, temperature, and sound) detector, or the Mobotix Proximity Box with its concealed microwave radar sensor.
Either of these non-optical movement sensors may detect nearby movement in complete darkness, inside or outside.
The Mobotix MultiSense PIR best detects warm bodies or vehicles moving across its field of view,
while the Mobotix Proximity Box detects solid objects (of any temperature) moving directly towards or away from it.
Either or both of these optional Mobotix sensor modules may connect to any current model Mobotix home automation IP camera or
Mobotix door station
(with current firmware) via a local MxBus 2 wire connection up to 50m in length, and trigger recording in one or more Mobotix cameras or
door stations in your automated home, as well as other home automation responses (e.g. turning lights on, or
sounding an alert).
Professional security and privacy.
Mobotix home automation IP cameras incorporate Professional Cyber Protection Technologies that include encryption, certificates,
user defined access rights and anti-bot settings. When properly programmed by your Clever Home Engineer your Mobotix home
automation camera system may not only be extremely reliable, it may also provide outstanding protection in terms of network security.
Another high security and anti-theft feature of Mobotix home automation cameras is that their user passwords cannot be reset to default on the
cameras themselves without them being sent back to Mobotix in Germany. If a Mobotix home automation camera that you purchased
from Clever Home is stolen, we may report and register it as stolen to Mobotix, and then when any unauthorized party sends it
to Mobotix to reset the password, Mobotix may recognize this camera as stolen and return it to its rightful owner.
